Christmas at the Cabin – Red Top Mountain State Park

santa1At Red Top Mountain State Park’s annual “Christmas at the Cabin” event, visitors can celebrate holiday traditions from years past. Come experience Christmas festivities from the mid-1800s on Saturday, December 7 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Vaughan Log Cabin behind the Park Office.

Demonstrations happening throughout the day include blacksmithing, music, toys and games, candle-dipping, and holiday crafts. Looking to get that perfect picture for this year’s Christmas card? Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available all day for free photos.

“Christmas at the Cabin is not only a great way to experience life in the mid-1800s, but a fun and exciting way to usher in the holiday season. The atmosphere is incredible, with roaring fires in the cabin, beautiful music in the air, and Santa sitting on the porch. What more could you ask for?” says Marcus Toft, Interpretive Ranger at the park. And to top it off, the event is free with only an annual or $5 daily ParkPass required on each vehicle.

The Vaughan Log Cabin is located behind the Park Office (formerly the Lodge). The Park Office at Red Top Mountain State Park is located at 50 Lodge Road SE, Cartersville, GA 30121.  More information is available on the Red Top Mountain FB page.
