FRI JULY 19 ACWORTH’S FIREWORKS AND CONCERT RESCHEDULED. The City of Acworth has rescheduled their Concert and Fireworks for Friday July 19. Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. on July 19 with the music of the “Paul Hand Band, followed by a special tribute to the members of our Armed Forces at 7:45 p.m., the band “Flashback” at 8:00 p.m., and fireworks at dark. FRI SAT SUN, JULY 19-20 “Cotton Patch Gospel” at First United Methodist Church (7pm) Join us for Cotton Patch Gospel, a musical offering a fresh perspective on the life of Jesus with a modern twist on the Gospel message.  All shows are in the Family Life Hall, and doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time. SAT, JULY 20 ” The Sock Hops” (8pm) at the Strand Theatre. From The Four Seasons to The Four Tops, from The Temptations to The Tokens, The Sock Hops specialize in the four-part harmonies of audiences’ favorites from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Patrons will sway, jive, and boogie to hits such as The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Blue Moon, Runaround Sue, Little Darlin’, and How Deep is Your Love? All ages. SAT JULY 20 Autoimmune Walk 9:00 AM. The 50 million Americans who suffer from autoimmune disease now have the opportunity to get involved and find a cure through the national “Autoimmune Walk:  Linking Together for a Cure” campaign sponsored by the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA). The INAUGURAL Georgia Autoimmune Walk will be held on Saturday, July 20th at Mud Creek Soccer Complex in Marietta, GA, located at 5600 Barrett Parkway.  Registration for the event begins at 9 am.  The time is NOW to link together, to do all we can to find it. When we link together, we are stronger.This is what the Autoimmune Walk is all about.  One person, linking with another, and another, to give a face to autoimmune disease. FRI JULY 26 KENNESAW’S SPORTS SPECTACULAR 6-9. Discover everything you need to know about league sports at the Kennesaw Sports Spectacular, on Friday, July 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will be held at Adams Park, 2753 Watts Drive. Representatives from Kennesaw’s Youth Sports Leagues will be on hand to provide information, conduct registration, and answer questions about available programs.  Members of the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders will be on hand to greet fans. The FREE event will also feature inflatables and attractions for kids who love sports. Concessions will be available for purchase. FRI , JULY 26 “Glover Park Concert Series -Symphony Saturday” The Glover Park Concert Series (8-10pm) Featuring The Grapevine (Beach Music / Oldies). The concerts are free of charge but if you’re looking for a “front-row seat,” a limited number of tables can be reserved — $45 for tables of six and $55 for tables for eight. Tables reservations are taken on a first come basis and may be reserved the first working day of each month. Blankets and lawn chairs only may be set up in the park after 4 p.m. Personal tables are not permitted in the park, however they may be set up on North Park Square after 6:00 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner (beer and wine are permitted) or dine in one of the many fine restaurants located on the square.

THU, FRI,  SUN – JULY 25, 26, 28 SPOT LIGHT ON KIDS Spotlight on Kids is a variety show performed at the Strand featuring local middle and high school students. It will be very similar in format and structure to other Strand productions such as Mo’ Motown, The Vegas Show 2013, and Strandemonium, and audiences can expected to be stunned and amazed by the level of talent displayed from the students. This is an all-ages show and fun for the whole family to enjoy. Make sure to mark your calendars and be sure not to miss talent of our local students. SAT JULY 27, SOUTHERN MUSEUM RAILROAD RENDEZVOUS EVENT, 10-4, Share the love of model railroading with the Southern Museum at the inaugural Railroad Rendezvous event on Saturday, July 27. N-SCALE, O-GAUGE, and HO scale train layouts, and much more. Admission for non-members is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (60 and older) and $5 for children (ages 4 to 12).
