THUR DEC 11 – FREE CHRISTMAS CONCERT – Blue Skies Ministries, headquartered in Marietta, will be hosting a free Christmas Concert at 7:00 pm at North Metro Church.  The concert will feature Christy Nockels and Kenn Kington.  Tickets are free and may be reserved by visiting the website www.whereskiesareblue.org.

THUR DEC 11 – SYMPHONY ON THE SQUARE – 7:00pm, entitled “Marietta’s Holiday Pops Concert.”  The concert will be held at the historic Strand Theatre on the Square and will include lots of holiday favorites including the wildly popular music from Frozen. SAT-SUN DEC 12-13- BETHLEHEM WALK – Mountain View United Methodist Church of Marietta invites everyone  to Experience the sights and sounds of the City of Bethlehem 2,000 years ago on the night Jesus was born  from 7 – 9 p.m.  Mountain View United Methodist Church is located at the corner of Jamerson Road and Trickum Road, Marietta. 30066. FRI-SUN DEC 12-14 – A NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM 6PM – Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (www.mtcbc.net) would like to invite your  family to experience a hands on Holy Land Experience. This is an outdoor event. Listen to live music and have some hot chocolate as you wait for your tour to begin. The location is Mt. Calvary Baptist Church 287 Mt. Calvary Rd. Marietta Ga. 30064. If weather does not permit, an alternate weekend will be December 19th, 20th, and 21st. Accepting voluntary donations of canned goods for the needy. Free for the whole family!

FRI-SAT DEC 12, 13 – CHRISTMAS AT PIEDMONT CHURCH.  Loads of activities for the whole family including a FREE Kid’s Zone, unique arts and crafts, local entertainment, great food, petting zoo on Saturday.  FREE Giant Snow Tubing Slide on Friday & Saturday (compliments of C & S Paving).  FREE photos with Santa on Friday 6-9 and Sat 12-3. FRI DEC 12 – HOLIDAY CANDLELIGHT SERVICE – 7pm at Kennesaw Memorial Park,1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta. An uplifting and meaningful way for families who have suffered a loss to start the holiday season.  

SAT DEC 13 – BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – No Mall line for Santa Claus as the Kennesaw Optimist Club will host Breakfast with Santa at the Ben Robertson Community Center from 8am  until 11 am. The club will be serving pancakes, sausage, orange juice, coffee for Mom and Dad.  In addition to a visit with Santa, children will enjoy making crafts. Tickets are  $5.00 for children under 10, $6.00 for kids 10 and older and adults. SAT DEC 13 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS – Come volunteer and assist the Marietta Tree Keepers as they plant trees at the City of Marietta’s Birney Park (475 Birney St, Marietta).  Arrive at 8:30am.  All ages are welcome.  Dress warmly.  For more info, call 770-424-4664.

SAT DEC 13 – WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA – Ga National Cemetery and Marietta National Cemetery.  Ceremony begins at noon in honor of our veterans.  The public is invited to attend either location.  This ceremony will take place at the same time at every national cemetery across the U.S.  More information is available at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.

SAT DEC 13 – SECRET GARDEN CHILDREN’S ART SERIES – Wooden Photo Frame – Starry Night by Van Gogh  – 10:30am to 12Noon. SAT DEC 13 – CAFE NOEL CHRISTMAS VARIETY SHOW – Hosted by Powder Springs UMC and the City of Powder Springs.  Two performances at 5pm & 7pm. All proceeds will be donated to support Sweetwater Mission, who serves low income neighborhoods in our area. Show will be at the Patricia C. SUN DEC 14 – CHRISTMAS FROM DUBLIN – The Kennesaw State University Retirees Association is partnering with one of Ireland’s Premier Tenors, Paul Byrom, to present a unique fundraising concert event beginning at 7pm! SUN DEC 14 – GREAT GIG DANCE CO “SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF THE SEASON” – Musical Christmas variety show at NorthStar Church beginning at 5pm. SUN DEC 14 – AN EVENING OF SACRED CHRISTMAS MUSIC – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5055 Holt Road NW, Acworth 30101 invites the public to this free hour of Christmas music that will be presented through vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles and scripture readings related to the birth of Christ. After the program, light refreshments will be served as guests mingle and view a variety of Nativity displays.

MON. DEC 15 GONE WITH THE WIND MOVIE – Celebrating 75 years. WED DEC 17 – MENORAH LIGHTING CEREMONY – The City of Acworth invites everyone to its third annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony on the second night of Hanukkah, at 6:00 p.m.  The Menorah is located at the corner of Cowan Road and Main Street in Downtown Acworth. Rabbi Zalman Charytan from the Chabad Jewish Center will officiate the lighting with Mayor Tommy Allegood assisting.

THURS DEC 18 SANTA AT CALIFORNIA DREAMING 6-9 What a fun way to get in the Christmas Spirit — California Dreaming, 745 Chastain Rd in Kennesaw has invited Santa to visit on Thursday, December 18 from 6-9 and you and your family are invited to come have dinner with Santa.  Plan on visiting Santa at California Dreaming, where he will take the time to listen to all the kids wishes and pose for photos.  Stay for dinner and make this an extra special night for the family. Bring  a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund sponsored by the Kennesaw Police Department and you will receive a card good for a FREE basket of Croissants.
