FRI-SUN NOV 10-12 – HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP – Pottery both functional and whimsical, produced by students and instructors from Kennesaw Parks & Recreation’s pottery program, will be on display and available for purchase at the City of Kennesaw’s Carrie House. One-of-a-kind items handmade by local artists including jewelry, felted wool and knitted items, photography and other mixed-media works of art will also be offered for sale. The Holiday Gift Shop will operate on Friday-Sunday, November 10 through 12 and Friday through Sunday, November 17-19. Scheduled hours can be found at kennesaw-ga.gov.An opening night reception with refreshments, music, door prizes, and special offers will be held on Friday, November 10 from 6 – 8 pm. The public is invited to attend. The Carrie House is located at 2838 Cherokee Street. SAT NOV 11 – MARIETTA’S VETERANS DAY PARADE – All are invited to come line the streets for a moving and memorable tribute to our Military Forces at the Annual Veterans Day Parade at 11:00 am. American pride will be on display as distinguished war heroes, JROTC troops and Patriot Guard Riders will be among the participants. There will be spectacular floats, military vehicles and vintage cars. The parade will begin at the Roswell Street Baptist Church at 10:45am and march up towards the Marietta Square and back down Lawrence Street with the intention of being on the Square by 11:11am. Please attend and help the City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta honor all veterans and commemorate those who have paid the ultimate price in serving the United States of America.

SAT NOV 11 – ACWORTH’S VETERANS DAY CEREMONY – 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, Cauble Park at Acworth Beach. Keynote speaker will be City of Kennesaw Mayor Derek Easterling.  Mayor Easterling enlisted in the U.SIn 1990, he was selected for the Naval Officer Indoctrination Course. He attained the rank of Lieutenant and completed his service through an early retirement option in 1996. SAT NOV 11 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS NOVEMBER PLANTING – We will be planting trees at City of Marietta Maintenance Building (near Lewis Park) in Marietta. The address is: 434 Sessions Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060. 9:00am. Dress for the weather.  Tools and gloves included.  Donuts, hot chocolate and hot coffee provided.  In case of bad weather please call 770-424-4664 for weather updates and rain date. Large groups please contact us with your number of volunteers that will be in attendance.

SAT NOV 11 – CHEROKEE HEIGHTS ARTS FESTIVAL – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole Drives in Marietta. Free admission and parking. Enjoy a unique Cobb County experience; visit a real neighborhood where neighbors actually produce their own arts festival and invite the world to celebrate with them! Featuring local artists in free performances throughout the day. Lovingly made local arts and crafts include original paintings, hand-made pasta, pottery, graphics, photography, jewelry, metal work, textiles, baked goods, original books and poetry, and much more.

SAT NOV 11 – DAY OF BONSAI – Kennesaw’s Smith-Gilbert Gardens is hosting its 4th Annual Day of Bonsai Event from 9 am – 2 pm. Garden staff and Bonsai Study Group volunteers showcase an impressive collection of bonsai, among the top 25 in the country. The event features demonstrations by renowned bonsai expert Rodney Clemons. Smith-Gilbert Gardens is located at 2382 Pine Mountain Rd in Kennesaw. SAT NOV 11 – RECYCLING EVENT – Keep Kennesaw Beautiful will host its fall community recycling event from 9 am – 1 pm at the Kennesaw Public Works facility on 3080 Moon Station Road. Take advantage of this opportunity to discard unwanted electronics, recycle metal, and shred personal documents securely. The event is free and open to all. THU NOV 16 – ABA WOMEN’S LUNCHEON – The ABA Women’s Business Network Luncheon will be held at Henry’s Louisiana Grill, from 11:30 until 1:00 pm. THU NOV 17 – ECUMENICAL THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION – This event will take place at Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Rd., Marietta, at 7:00 pm.. It is free to the public. Seating for 900 fills up quickly, so please arrive 15 or more minutes before the 7:00pm start. Parking is limited, and guests are advised to carpool. FRI NOV 17 – JOHN BERRY IN CONCERT – The Marietta Performing Arts Center at Marietta High School welcomes well-known recording artist John Berry at 7:30 pm. TUE NOV 21 – ACWORTH SENIOR LUNCH – Join us for the City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Departments Senior Luncheon. Come join us for lunch, bingo, and other special activities. The luncheon is held at Roberts School Community and Education Center (4681 School Street) in Acworth. Lunch is served at noon. After lunch we will have several rounds of bingo with prizes. This program is free to all seniors!!!

SUN NOV 26 -“MUSUEM STORE SUNDAY”- The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History will take part in the first annual Museum Store Sunday as hosted by the Museum Store Association on November 26, 11 am – 6 pm. TUES NOV 28 – CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING 6:00 pm.  Join the City of Kennesaw and elected officials at the pedestrian underpass plaza directly across from Revival on Main in downtown Kennesaw on Tuesday, November 28 for the time-honored tradition of “flipping the switch” to illuminate the official Christmas tree. The free hour-long program begins at 6 pm and will include festive choral music and sing-along, light refreshments, and plenty of holiday cheer. THU NOV 30 City of Marietta Santa’s Arrival & Christmas Tree Lighting The City of Marietta’s Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in conjunction with the arrival of Santa Claus on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Glover Park on the Marietta Square. The fun begins at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 30th with performances by local school choruses. Santa makes his grand entrance via a City of Marietta firetruck at 5:20pm followed by the lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree at 6pm. Important information – Santa must leave the Square promptly 8pm that evening to make his way back to the North Pole!

FRI-SUN DEC 1-3 – THE NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCE – The Georgia Ballet will perform the Holiday favorite “The Nutcracker” on December 1-3 at the Jennie T. Anderson Theater at the Cobb Civic Center. FRI DEC 1 – SANTA ARRIVES IN ACWORTH! – It’s that special time again! The City of Acworth is excited to be partnering with NorthStar Church to make this year’s Santa’s Arrival the best yet!  Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Santa is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of live performances until 9:00 p.m. to help Santa kickoff the holiday season. SAT DEC 2 – SANTA PARADE AND HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES – The City of Kennesaw will usher in the holiday season on Saturday, December 2 with a Main Street parade at noon featuring marching bands, decorated floats, vintage cars, colorfully-costumed characters, and Santa Claus himself. The celebration continues at Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee Street, until 6 pm with A Day with Santa presented by WellStar Health Systems. Activities include a snow playground, inflatables and amusements, kid’s crafts, visits with Santa, stage entertainment, and a holiday market full of gift ideas and unique merchandise. SAT DEC 2 – MERRY HOYA MARKET – Harrison High School will host its 2nd annual Merry Hoya Market in the school dining hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items for sale range from jewelry and handmade soaps and candles to indoor and outdoor Christmas décor and wooden plaques. Vendors are local crafters, including some staff members of Harrison and its feeder schools. Spaces may still be available for crafters wishing to participate. SAT DEC 2 – PICTURES WITH SANTA IN ACWORTH – On Saturday, December 2 and Saturday, December 9 there will be pictures with Santa, as well as horse and carriage rides on December 9 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Plaza on Senator Russell Avenue. Visit www.acworthtourism.org for more information.

SAT DEC 2 – ART AT THE PARK HOUSE 6-9 The City of Acworth can hardly wait for you to come see the newly renovated Art at the Park House, located at the corner of Cherokee and Taylor Streets on the northeast corner of Logan Farm Park. The public is invited to to their first opening Artist Reception on Saturday Dec 2 from 6-9 pm, featuring their Small Works Show. Light refreshments will be served. SUN & MON DEC 3 & 4 – CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT – The First Baptist Church Marietta Worship and Ministry invite the public to attend their 18th annual presentation of Carols By Candlelight on Sunday and Monday, December 3 & 4 at 7:00 pm. THU DEC 7 – HOLIDAY CANDLELIGHT SERVICE – Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Kennesaw Memorial Park invite the public to attend their Holiday Candlelight Service – an uplifting and meaningful way for families who have suffered a loss to start the holiday season. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home will hold their service on Thursday, December 7 at 7:00 pm. Kennesaw Memorial Park will hold their service on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 pm.

FRI-SAT DEC 8-9 – CHRISTMAS AT PIEDMONT – This arts and crafts show will be buzzing with activity! Unique arts and crafts exhibitors will display their products. There will be delicious festival food to warm your insides, local entertainment, FREE rides on the 50-foot Snow Tube ride Friday and Saturday and FREE Petting Zoo on Saturday. FRI DEC 8 – THE SOUND OF CHRISTMAS – Join the Symphony on the Square back at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre for our 8th Annual Holiday Concert at 8:00 PM. Get your tickets early as this will be a sell out event. Bring the whole family for this wonderful Christmas performance and meet Santa Claus, who will be attending the concert and will be available for pictures and selfies before the show! SAT DEC 9 – BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – KENNESAW – Kennesaw Parks & Recreation is partnering with the Kennesaw-Acworth Optimist Club to host an “all-you-care-to-eat” pancake breakfast with Santa at the Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring a camera. Two seating options are available: 8 to 9:15 a.m.; and 10 to 11:15 a.m. Advance tickets are only $6 per person, and can be purchased online at www.kennesaw-ga.gov/parks-and-recreation or at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $8 per person (based on availability, space is limited). SAT DEC 9 – POLAR EXPRESS ADVENTURE – Explore the magical world of The Polar Express at the Southern Museum’s Polar Express Adventure event from 2:30pm to 7:00pm. Immerse yourself in the classic story retold throughout the Museum, with vignettes highlighting the plot and performers bringing the story to life. SAT DEC 9 – BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – The Northwest Family YMCA is hosting Breakfast with Santa from 10 am until 12 PM at the Northwest YMCA. This is a FREE community event for all ages. SAT-SUN DEC 9 – 10 – BRAVO DANCE PRESENTS “HOLIDAY EXPRESS” – Bravo Dance Center will perform its 4th annual holiday production, Holiday Express, at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta. Join us on a journey from Georgia to New York City to deliver the prized Christmas tree to Rockefeller Center! Holiday Express stars Bravo Dance Company with performances by Bravo’s Ensemble and Advanced Hip Hop Team. SUN DEC 10 GREAT GIG presents Sights and Sounds of the Season at North Star Church. The show will feature the talented dancers of Great Gig Dance Ensemble, professional singers, musicians and more. “Sights and Sounds of the Season” promises to get you and your family in the Christmas mood! This is a fundraiser for the Great Gig Dance Ensemble, to help offset their expenses as they perform through out the Southeast. A catered reception featuring holiday desserts, coffee, and hot chocolate, begins at 5:00pm and includes a holiday-themed silent auction, followed by the show in the theater at 6:00. FARMER’S MARKETS – LOCAL

SAT/SUN  – MARIETTA FARMER’S MARKET. Year round on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Sundays: May-October – 12 pm till 3 pm. Takes up residence on N. Park Square. Market customers have lots of variety to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables that are rarely, available from the grocery store. MARIETTA SQUARE ART WALK – The first Friday of each month starting in March through November. Art Walk celebrates the vitality of Marietta’s diverse cultural Arts scene with artists, businesses, and organizations representing a variety of artistic disciplines.  The evening comes alive as performance, dance, culinary and visual Art permeates every corner of the charming Historic Marietta Square.  Free, self guided walks, patrons can enjoy gallery openings, live music, and many of the boutiques. FRIDAY/SATURDAYS 

“Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge on select Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10pm starting during the winter months. GHOSTS OF MARIETTA WALKING TOUR (7:30pm) Walk the streets of our haunted city by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. SATURDAYS  MARIETTA SQUARE ARTISAN MARKET is on Second and Fourth Saturdays.  April through November. The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods. It is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm from April to November. Enjoy the paintings, drawings, and photography of fine artists settled alongside skilled craftspeople who feature an eclectic roster of distinctive goods including fire pits, cutting boards, terraria, pens, and fine jewelry.
