WED NOV 9 – GARDEN CLUB MEETING – Come and socialize and listen to this month’s program on “Let the Holiday Season Begin! Ideas for holiday decor”. This meeting is also our annual bake sale so come prepared to purchase delicious edibles. FRI NOV 11 – VETERANS DAY PARADE – The City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta’s will host the 12th Annual Veterans Day Parade at 11am on the Marietta Square. Grand Marshall for the 2016 Veterans Day Parade is Captain Ed Gallrein, United States Navy SEAL (retired).

FRI NOV 11 VETERANS DAY LUNCHEON sponsored by the City of Kennesaw and American Legion Post 304.  Lunch is complimentary to all veterans and active military personnel.  The event will be held from noon – 2 pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw.

FRI NOV 11 VETERANS DAY CEREMONY sponsored by the City of Acworth.  Join us on Friday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans.  This year’s keynote speaker is State Representative Ed Setzler, Mr. Setzler served on active duty for nine years as an officer in the US Army.

SAT NOV 12 – ELECTRONICS & PAINT RECYCLING – Hosted by Harrison High School Bands in the upper parking lot of Harrison High School from 9am-5pm. There is a $10.00 requested donation per car load. 100% of the donation goes to the HHS Bands program. There is a $20.00 processing fee for 1 TV/monitor and $15.00 each for 2 or more. A portion of this amount goes to HHS Bands as well. We are now offering large item pick-ups for an additional donation fee. SAT NOV 12 – CHEROKEE HEIGHTS ARTS FESTIVAL – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole Drives in Marietta. There is no admission charge and all parking is free. Enjoy a wide variety of local arts and crafts, entertainment and children’s art-play booths.

SAT NOV 12 – INDOOR ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR – 10am-4pm; Cartersville Civic Center 435 W. Main St.  Over 70 vendors with handcrafted items. Food and drink available for purchase.  Get a head start on your holiday shopping & have some lunch.  Free admission and parking. Sponsored by Friends of Bartow County Library.

KMHS Mustangs Hosting Fall Sports Kick Off

mustangOur community is invited to Kennesaw Mountain High School on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm to meet and greet the students involved in the school’s fall athletic program.  The fun will take place in the KMHS Courtyard with Bouncy Houses, Obstacle Course, Face Painting, Food, and best of all  Mustang Autographs For the Kids. (Bring your camera).  Let’s show our students we have the Mustang Spirit.

All of these sports will be involved.

Football: Come out and meet the Mustang Football Team and Coaches.  Players will be signing autographs and throwing the ball around with our future Mustangs!  Jeep Raffle Tickets, Stampede Discount Cards, Football Season Passes and Spirit Wear will be available for purchase.

Cheerleading The Mustang Cheerleaders will be onsite cheering and will provide face painting for the kids!

Cross Country One of the largest athletic teams at KMHS will be on site to meet and greet their fans!

Softball The Mustang Softball Team is one of the KMHS’ most successful athletic teams. The girls will be on site signing autographs and playing catch with our future mustangs.  Bring you glove!

Volleyball The Mustang Volleyball team will be available to sign autographs and instruct on the basics of volleyball.

GSO Starlight Spectacular! – June 28

GSO invites the public for a spectacular evening of pops and patriotic favorites at Kennesaw State University.  Complete a perfect evening by cheering to a sensational fireworks display.  No ticket is required, and there is no cost to attend!

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2014 (rain date is Sunday, June 29).

New for this year’s event is the addition of pre-concert activities including games, facepainting, and balloon artist for kids, vendors and exhibits from the KSU community and beyond, and a patriotic singing contest.
