7469532-group-of-camping-kidsThis summer Red Top Mountain State Park is offering family’s a way to make their next camping trip extra special. On Friday, July 26 from 7 to 10 pm and on Saturday, July 27 from 9 am to 2 pm, the park is hosting a Family Camp with activities that include canoeing, geocaching, crafts, mini golf, and campfire cooking. Space is limited for this special event and pre-registration is required. The program fee is $20 for adults, $15 for youth (6-17) and children five and under are free.

“Part of the reason we’re doing Family Camp is because people often tell us they get tired of the same old camping routine, which usually involves a lot of hiking, swimming, and sitting around the campfire,” says Ranger Marcus, who will be leading many of the activities. “Family Camp is an opportunity not only to get more out of your next camping trip, but also to introduce campers to activities that might be new to them and that they’ll be able to enjoy whenever they go camping.”

Family Camp is not only open to those camping at the park, anyone is welcome to sign up and enjoy the fun activities. To register your and your family, stop by or call the Park Office. 50 Lodge Road, Cartersville, GA 30121. 770-975-0055
