Kennesaw Skatepark Hosts Red Bull Skateboard Athletes for Opening Day ~ Nov. 23

skateparkRed Bull Skateboard athletes Ryan Sheckler and Torey Pudwill will be the first to demo the new 40,000-square-foot Kennesaw Skatepark during an opening day celebration on Saturday, November 23. Festivities begin at 10 a.m., and gates open to all skaters after the show.

•    Ryan Sheckler is a child prodigy turned professional skateboarder, world-renowned athlete, teenage heartthrob, business owner, charity founder and TV star who has made his name synonymous with skateboarding.
•    Torey Pudwill was named Best Street Skater at the 2011 TransWorld Skateboarding Awards and is renowned for game-changing street skills, which have earned wins at Matix Lord of the Lines, the Copenhagen Pro, the Tampa Pro and Maloof Money Cup.

Also on opening day, meet the skate team from local outfitter Ambush Boarding Company, including Atlanta’s own Stormy Pruett. There will be music, merchandise giveaways and raffles, and food vending on-site. Limited edition Kennesaw Skatepark t-shirts will be available for purchase.

The state-of-the-art skatepark is a 40,000 square foot all-concrete facility consisting of a Street League Skateboarding Foundation Certified Skate Plaza, as well as a traditional flow course and bowl. “There is no other skatepark within 300 miles that matches the quality and versatility of Kennesaw Skatepark,” said Mayor Mark Mathews. “This facility moves skateboarding in this area to the next level.”

Located at 3140 Old 41 Highway, the park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is no charge to use the facility. Helmets are required for skaters ages 15 and under.
