Run for Wounded Heroes 5K is the fourth 5K in the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series, and takes place on Saturday, August 1 in downtown Kennesaw.  The race for adults and children benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. Same-day registration and packet pickup at Kennesaw First Baptist Church opens at 6:30 am; a one mile fun run for children starts at 7:30 am with the 5K race beginning at 8 am.  Price is $25 until July 23, $30 til July 30, and $35 on the day of the race – Aug 1.

Thanks to the 1700 runners who participated in the race last year. $20,000 dollars was donated to Wounded Warrior Project, and $1,000 to Kennesaw’s Veterans Luncheon. Over $75,000 has been donated to WWP in 5 years. You have made it very successful. We look forward to seeing everyone again.  Let’s make this 2,000 runners this year.

The race follows a fast, flat route through historic downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park and is fun for beginners and accomplished runners and walkers alike. The route is a USA Track and Field Certified course. Traffic control is coordinated by local law enforcement. The race is electronically timed for fast, accurate results. Race day refreshments are provided for all participants.
