Holiday Open House – Marietta Square – Nov 8

BPlogoMerchants of Historic Downtown Marietta are preparing for their annual Holiday Open House which will take place this year on November 8 from 6-9pm. This annual tradition brings the charm and kicks off the Holiday shopping season at the Square. Extended shopping hours continue every Friday evening until 8pm through December 20th. Marietta’s unique local shops offer a wide selection of gift ideas from vintage sound systems to original fine art, and everything in between.

ZOMBIE WALK – on the Square OCT 19.

zombiefamily79_nWe had hoped all was well…apparently, we were dead wrong. The undead  of  Marietta, Georgia are coming  back  again  to help  our community of the living on October 19, 2013 and  for the  third  year the zombies will bring donations to support  MUST Ministries.  This year we will be a part of the Marietta Harvest Square Arts & Crafts Festival October 19, 2013.  After the festival closes at 5pm the zombies will then take over for the Gathering & Infestation.  After the walk, make it a haunted evening with the family as Carnival of Doom presents a Creature Feature “drive-in” double-feature in Glover Park: Attack Of The Monsters & Night Of The Living Dead.
What’s a Zombie Walk?  A Zombie Walk is an organized  (as organized as zombies can be) public gathering of people dressed  in zombie costumes (we hope these are only costumes).  The  walks  take place in an urban center as the participants make their way around  city streets and  through  public  spaces in an orderly fashion.  In Marietta, the undead  will again roam the streets around Marietta Square in a not-so-brisk 0.8 mile stumble.  This is an undead family event.

There’s a little undead  in all of us,  so bring out your  best zombie  look and  food donations (human cash & credit card donations work) and join  the local undead  in Marietta Square.  Spectators are welcome to come play with us while helping  the local food pantry   The Gathering starts at 5pm in Glover Park after the  Festival.   The Walk starts promptly at 6pm.  Makeup artists will be on hand  during  the festival  to help bring out the undead for a monetary donation or arrive already in character using your own creativity.  More info at http://mariettazombiewalk.org.
