Raminator to visit Scottish Rite Hospital – Nov 2nd.

RAMINATOR visits Scottish Rite.

On behalf of the Ram Truck brand, the Hall Brothers Racing team and monster truck Raminator are making a pit stop at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital on Thursday, November 2nd from 10:30AM – 11:30AM to brighten the day of patients. Raminator, the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® record holder for the Fastest Speed for a Monster Truck, hitting a record speed of 99.10 miles per hour will make a special stop in the front parking circle of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital. Patients, families and hospital guests will be able to get an up close and personal look at the monster truck and meet its owners and operators – the Hall Brothers Racing Team.  The Hall Brothers will answer questions and sign autographs. The Ram monster trucks compete in races such as Monster Nationals and tour the country, making appearances at dealerships to offer ride-along and car-crushing spectacles for fans of all ages. The Ram Truck brand monster truck lineup includes Raminator and Rammunition, sponsored since 2002. The entire line of Ram monster trucks are owned and operated by the Hall Brothers Racing Team.

1940s Swing Dance Free Event ~ Nov. 2 ~ Kennesaw, GA

headerWe invite you to join us for the sixth annual 1940s Swing Dance on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, in the KSU Center at 7:00 pm! Our special event commemorates the 1940s era with an evening of dancing to the live big band tunes of The Peachtree Jazz Edition’s 18-piece orchestra and vocalist. The program supports Feed the Future, a KSU initiative to assist students in need.

Event highlights include: Big band music by The Peachtree Jazz Edition; Swing dance lessons; 1940s-style photo shoot
•    Special performances by KSU Swing Dance Assoc.
•    Refreshments and costume contest

Join in the fun by wearing 1940s attire! (not required)

This event is FREE with donation of one non-perishable food item to Feed the Future and the public is invited. No reservations required.

Largest High School Fencing Tournament at Pope High School, Marietta – Nov 2

fencing240 fencers from 17 regional high schools are expected to compete in the largest high school fencing tournament ever held in Georgia on November 2. (GHSFL) tournament, hosted by Pope High School in Marietta, will include a men’s épée and a women’s épée event. Fencing is slated to begin at 8:40 a.m.; semi-finals and finals are expected to run between about 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

This is the ninth full season for GHSFL, which is the second largest high school fencing league in the nation. Current members of the League are Lassiter and Pope  in Cobb; Dunwoody in Dekalb; Lambert and South Forsyth in Forsyth; Alpharetta, Cambridge, Centennial, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, Milton, Northview and Roswell in Fulton; Duluth in Gwinnett and three private schools: Fellowship Christian School, Oak Mountain Academy and Pinecrest Academy.

This will be the fourth of seven tournaments in the regular season which runs from September 2013 through February 2014. The GHSFL Individual Championship will be held at Northview High School on February 22, 2014 and the Team Championship will be held on March 1, 2014 at Pope High School.
