wreathFRI NOV 8 – Holiday Open House, Marietta Square. 6-9 pm This annual event kicks off the Holiday shopping season at the Square. Extended shopping hours continue every Friday evening until 8pm through December 20th. Marietta’s unique local shops offer a wide selection of gift ideas from vintage sound systems to original fine art, and everything in between. SAT NOV 9 MAKE A BURGER, MAKE A FRIEND – at Burger Fi Kennesaw from 11 am to 1 pm.  Benefiting the Georgia chapter of Autism speaks.  Suncoast High School Culinary Club in Riveria Beach, Florida, BurgerFi, and Autism Speaks have partnered together to create a simultaneous national event to be held on November 9, 2013.  BurgerFi is located on Main Street in downtown Kennesaw.  Drop by and have a burger.  

artteen1SAT NOV 9 CHEROKEE HEIGHTS ART FESTIVAL 9-4. Lovingly made local arts and crafts include original paintings, graphics, photography, jewelry, metal work, bird houses, textiles, baked goods, books and much more. Lots of Christmas gifting possibilities The show covers the entire block of Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole drives, just one block off Cherokee Street, the one-way street heading north from the Marietta Square. No Admission.

SAT NOV 9 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS – Volunteers needed to maintain plantings at Hill Park.  Arrive at 8:30 for donuts and beverages.  All ages welcome, dress for the weather.  Hill Park is a pretty little pocket park that was transformed from a once vacant lot just a few blocks off the northeast corner of Historic Marietta Square. Eagle_Project_Proposal_003SUN NOV 10- ONE TON UNTIL WE ARE DONE  Campaign.  Please bring your non-perishable food items to the Daily Bread Food Pantry, 3860 Cherokee St. NW, Kennesaw, Sunday, November 10th from 12:30pm-4:pm for drop off, rain or shine. VETERANS’ DAY ACTIVITIES

american-flag-2a.jpg (JPEG Image, 640 × 480 pixels)MON NOV 11 MARIETTA’S VETERAN’S DAY PARADE – 11:00 am start.  Leaves Roswell Baptist Church and travels to Marietta Square.  The Grand Marshal is Carol Mutter who is the first female 3 star General Officer in the American Military. Our theme is the contribution of women in the military to defending our freedoms.

MON NOV 11 VETERAN’S LUNCHEON – The City of Kennesaw invites all veterans to lunch in honor of their service to our country  Lunch will be served from noon to 2 at the Ben Robertson Community Center. All veterans and active duty military are invited to attend and no identification will be required.

MON NOV 11  ACWORTH’S VETERAN’S DAY CEREMONY
Join the City of Acworth on Monday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans. The Marietta High School Theatre Department presents A Raisin in the Sun, on stage in the Marietta Performing Arts Center, Thursday, November 14th – Saturday, November 16th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 17th at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are available online at www.bluedeviltheatre.com.

This event is open to the public at $8 per person and is free for museum members.Enjoy our Shadow Circus and The Portrait Society of Atlanta Exhibits and listen to the music of The Whitefield Academy String Quartet.
