SAT MAR 23 ACWORTH’S DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE 7 – 9 PM. It’s a Sock Hop and if the new Acworth Community Center is ready it will be held there, otherwise it will be at NCHS in the Cafeteria. Registration for this event began on January 7 for City of Acworth residents and the cost is $30.00 per couple. Registration for non-residents opened on January 14 and the cost is $40.00 per couple. Additional daughters cost $10.00 each. Make sure to pre-register for this event! Day-of Registrations will not be guaranteed a gift and increased rates will apply.

SAT MAR 28 MARIETTA SQUARE MARKET OPENS – the highly anticipated new food hall destination, has announced its grand opening for Thursday, March 28th. Located at 68 North Marietta Parkway NW just one block from Glover Park in the Historic Marietta Square District, the new Marietta Square Market is an 18,500 square foot food hall designed to resemble a turn of the century train station and nestled in a completely revitalized warehouse space adjacent to the Square’s iconic railroad tracks and the parallel Mountain to River Trail.
Local food fans can get set to enjoy the Market’s diverse selection of authentic eats, well-stocked central bar and indoor and outdoor seating options as well as pop-up style retail shopping spots. THURS MAR 28 JAZZ DINNER AND AUCTION sponsored by The Allatoona Bands. The Allatoona Bands invite the community to join them for a night of great music, good food and terrific opportunities at the annual jazz dinner and auction, March 28th at Allatoona High School, 3300 Dallas Acworth Highway. Tickets are $12 per person if purchased in advance, and $15 at the door. Dining begins at 5 p.m., and the event goes until 8 p.m. Purchase your tickets from any Allatoona Band student, or online at allatoonabands.org. Proceeds support all Allatoona Bands, and will also have support the marching band’s invitation to march in the 2019 Chicago Thanksgiving Parade this fall.

FRI MAR 29 ART OPEN HOUSE 6-9 pm. hosted by Simmertime Cafe and Art Gallery. This will be a Jamaican Festival Theme with authentic Jamaican food including pulled port, jerk chicken, shrimp over rice and more. The content of the Art Gallery is wide and varied. Simmertime Cafe and Art Gallery is located on the corner of Main and Dallas St, across from the Kennesaw First Baptist Church.

SAT MAR 30 WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH 12-5 pm, Southern Museum, Cherokee St., Kennesaw. Staff will include biographical stories throughout the museum of women whose lives influenced society during the Civil War or contributed to the railroad industry and beyond. SAT MAR 30 BACK YARD CAMPOUT at Swift Cantrell Park 5:0pm Sat until 9 am Sunday. Enjoy camping under the night sky, along with backyard games, field activities, discovery stations and campfire entertainment featuring storytelling, stargazing and s’mores.
Participants will need to bring their own tent. Only one tent is allowed per camp site. Dinner and breakfast will be provided The registration fee is $25 for a 10 x 10 camp site. SAT MAR 30 CLASSIC CAR CRUISE – On Saturday, March 30, the city will host a Classic Car Cruise in Downtown Acworth. The event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. The Lake City Cruisers partner with the city and the downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $2 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise. All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth. SAT MAR 30 HARRISON HS BAND Harrison High School Marching Band is holding an Electronics and Paint Recycle Day on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 from 9:00am-5:00pm in the Upper Parking Lot of Harrison High School.
Please bring items to be recycled such as computers, power tools, heavy metals, lawnmowers, cell phones, telephone chargers, power cables, fax machines, TVs, monitors, etc. There is a $20.00 requested donation per car load. 100% of this donation goes to the HHS Bands program. There is a $30.00 processing fee for 1 FLAT panel tv/monitor and $20.00 each one after. A portion of this amount goes to HHS Bands as well.

SAT APR 6 POPS CONCERT AT LOGAN FARM PARK 6:30 PM. Join us for the first music event at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street)!  On Saturday, April 6, the Acworth Arts Alliance will be partnering with the City of Acworth to bring you Pops at Logan Farm Park!  The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature Cobb New Horizons Band, who will be performing their selections from show tunes to contemporary hits for the crowd to enjoy until approximately 8:15 p.m.  Tables are available for reservation on the Acworth Arts Alliance website or guests are welcome to bring a chair from home to enjoy the symphony classics.
