JUNE/JULY SUMMER ART CLASSES FOR TEENS – The Art Station-Big Shanty offers a wide variety of youth art classes throughout June and July. Ages 11-18 have exciting options, such as, Stop Motion Animation, Pottery on the Wheel, Improv and more! Classes are available for mornings or afternoons, meet Monday-Friday, and change weekly. REGISTER NOW for MPD POLICE ACADEMY This FREE 11 week program begins Thursday, July 16 and will be held every Thursday evening from 6 – 9 pm. The Academy is open to residents, and business or property owners of the City of Marietta pending a background check. THURS. JUNE 28 – GONE WITH THE WIND OPEN HOUSE. The move to Crumby Hall is finished and Connie Southerland, Director, invites are to come sit on their front port on Thursday, June 28 from 5- 7 pm. Historic Brumby Hall is located at 472 Powder Springs St., Marietta – just off the Square.

FRI JUNE 29 BURGERS FOR THE BRAVE 12-2 PM. Hosted by: Lost Mountain Dental. As a “Thank you” to our local first responders, Lost Mountain Dental will be hosting Burgers for the Brave. In appreciation for keeping our community safe, we welcome local firefighters, EMTs, and police officers to stop by and enjoy lunch on us. This event will be held Friday June 29, 2018 from 12pm-2pm. SAT JUNE 30 TREEMENDOUS PLAY HOUSES at SMITH GILBERT GARDENS opens . Let your imagination climb” features a series of creative, interactive, outdoor play structures, designed and built by area students and professionals. Presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the exhibition runs from Tuesday, June 19, through the end of September, and is included in the price of garden admission.

SAT JUNE 30 -KSU 2018 Star-Spangled Spectacular. Kick off your Independence Day celebration at Kennesaw State University’s 11th Annual Star-Spangled Spectacular on Saturday, June 30, 2018! This year’s event will be held at a new venue location: Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University’s Sports + Entertainment Park. This free, annual event features a patriotic concert with performances by the KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra followed by a spectacular fireworks finale. Beginning at 5 p.m., the Family Fun Festival features pre-concert activities  for kids plus food vendors, exhibitors and vendors from the KSU community. Visit for more information.

MON JULY 2 Horizon League: Fall Baseball – Registration begins July 2nd for the Fall Horizon Baseball League. The Horizon League is a non-competitive baseball league for athletes ages 5 years and older with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Games will be played on the Horizon Field (4000 South Main Street, Acworth 30101). The cost of the league is $15 per player. TUES JULY 3 BUTTERFLY HOUSE at SMITH GILBERT GARDENS opens. The exhibit features a butterfly house where visitors can observe native species including Monarchs, Black Swallowtails, Gulf Fritillaries, Tiger Swallowtails and many more, in all stages of life. Guests will also be inspired by the Southern Living® Pollinator Garden, featuring a variety of butterfly and bee-friendly plants that are suitable for home landscaping. TUES JULY 3 KENNESAW’S JULY 3 Independence Day Celebration. The City of Kennesaw’s 2018 pre-Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks is one of the biggest and best in North Georgia! Salute to America eventgoers will be treated to two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors and plenty of activities for the kids. Admission is FREE. This year’s headliner is Head Games–The Foreigner Tribute Band, who will be performing all of the legendary rock band’s classic songs on the Depot Stage beginning at 7:00 p.m. The evening will be capped off with a brilliant fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m. A limited number of tables located in front of the Depot Stage can be reserved for only $75 per table. With the exception of reserved tables, all seating will be general admission, so bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chairs. More Information is available at

WED JULY 4 MARIETTA’S JULY 4 CELEBRATION AND PARADE (Presented by Superior Plumbing) Grab your American flag, put on your red, white and blue, and celebrate America’s independence July 4, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. with an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square presented by Superior Plumbing, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and the City of Marietta fireworks finale. Throughout the day, more than 80,000 people are expected to celebrate on the Square with great food, fun activities, the best arts and crafts around and free entertainment from Departure, a Journey Tribute Band. Opening for Departure is Jon Byrd, Playing all of your favorite country songs. Concerts are presented by 94.9 The Bull. WED. JULY 4 ACWORTH’S July 4th CELEBRATION! The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. On Wednesday, July 4, Cauble Park will come alive with music, fireworks, laughter and Cauble Live music starts at 4:00 p.m.  The Paul Hand Band will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. As tradition holds, there will be special tribute to all those men and women who have served in our Armed Forces at 7:45 p.m. Then our  headliners “FLASHBACK” takes the stage at 8:00 p.m. And then Fireworks begins at approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free; however tables are available for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $70 for non-residents. With the table you get 6 chairs. SHUTTLE from downtown Acworth available. SAT JULY 7 SPORTS FANATIC 5K – Major fundraiser for the DAVE KRACHE Foundation. Helping kids in need play the sports they love! Saturday JULY 7, 2018 in downtown Kennesaw. MONDAYS KENNESAW FARMER’S MARKET 3:30-7:30 PM. The Farmer’s market will offer a variety of fresh vegetables & fruits, baked goods, prepared goods, jams & jellies, locally produced honey and more! The market will be in the circle this season with the food trucks. Some vendors require cash but many take debit/credit cards. Hours for FM are 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. At the depot in downtown Kennesaw.

MONDAYS DINNER AT THE DEPOT 5:30-8:30 A variety of food trucks will rotate throughout the season. Food trucks take cash, credit and debit cards.There will be live music each week and different types of entertainment throughout the season. TUESDAYS COBB COUNTY FARM BUREAU FARMERS MARKET Lost Mountain Park. We’ll be there every Tuesday from now thru September from 3 – 7 PM. The goal for Cobb County Farm Bureau Farmers Market is to promote agriculture and give consumers an opportunity to connect with local farmers and businesses. FRIDAYS ACWORTH FARMER’S MARKET The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market is open for this season  and will continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 26. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street. Join us every Tuesday morning, for outdoor storytime in beautiful Frana Brown Park located in downtown Acworth, right across from the Post Office.  Bring a towel or blanket to sit on and some snacks! WED & SAT SOUTHERN MUSEUM BRAIN TRAIN The Southern Museum Education Program presents BRAIN TRAIN – a summer S.T.E.A.M. Workshop for families with kids ages 5-12. “Lumiere Lounge” (6-10pm) on the second floor at the Strand Theatre Come to the Strand and pay homage to the days of old with a silent film inspired piano bar and lounge! As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge will feature specialty cocktails made with local ‘Hometown Honey’ in addition to a full bar. GHOSTS OF MARIETTA WALKING TOUR (7:30pm) Walk the streets of our haunted city by lantern light, guided by one of our talented storytellers. SATURDAYS  MARIETTA SQUARE ARTISAN MARKET is on Second and Fourth Saturdays.  April through November. The Marietta Square Artisan Market is an open-air showcase of locally-created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods.
