Veggie Plots Available at Smith-Gilbert Gardens

Veggie_PlotThis spring, families and individuals will have an opportunity to work their own garden plots in the Gather ‘n’ Grow area in Kennesaw’s Smith-Gilbert Gardens (SGG).   Along with growing space, participants will receive a seasonal membership to Smith-Gilbert Gardens, seeds, plants, fertilizer, cages, workbook and 10 educational classes. The cost is $150 per plot. Over 30 plots are available on a first-come, first served basis starting in April.

The educational classes and one-on-one instruction will be provided by Head Gardener Shon Cameron and SGG Executive Director Doug Davis. Topics include composting, soil preparation, vermiculture, weed identification, good and bad bugs, insecticides, fertilizers and more! Education Coordinator Stefanie Haerynck will also be on hand to provide fun family activities like scarecrow making and fairy house construction.

Gun Safety Class

fp.ncThe Kennesaw Police Department is sponsoring a Gun Safety Class on Saturday, March 9th, from 10am till 12 noon at the Ben Robertson Community Center located at 2753 Watts Drive. Members of the Kennesaw Police Department will be on hand to provide the attendees with the basic knowledge necessary to own a firearm. The agenda will consist of information reference Basic Firearms Safety and Georgia Gun Laws. Free gun locks will also be available while supplies last.
Please do not bring any firearms or weapons to the class.

BUSINESS EXPO TOMORROW NIGHT – FEB 26

From plumbing services to money markets, from security systems to car stereos, the Ben Robertson Community Center will be full of Cobb County businesses at the Kennesaw Business Association Business Expo on Tuesday, February 26. The event will be held from 4 p.m., to 8 p.m.The Business Expo is a free event and provides patrons a unique opportunity to see some of the local business leaders in a comfortable setting.

Visitors will find lots of free give-a-ways and coupons as Cobb businesses show off new products, deals and upcoming releases of future products or promotions. The Expo kicks off at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, February 26 at the Ben Robertson Community Center near Adams Park off Highway 41 in Kennesaw.

FREE samples of entrees and desserts from six food purveyors.  Parking and admission to the expo is free.

VEGAS MUSIC REVUE AT THE STRAND
