Cobb DOT to Hold Public Information Open House

On June 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the City of Kennesaw Council Chambers, 2529 J.O. Stephenson Ave., Kennesaw, GA, the Cobb County Department of Transportation will hold a public information OPEN HOUSE for the I-75 at Wade Green Road interchange improvements project.  These improvements are a component of the 2011 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program. The proposed project consists of converting the existing interchange to a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) utilizing the existing bridge while providing operational improvements. Most of the project will be contained within the existing paved area.  The current roadway and bridge consists of two, twelve foot wide travel lanes plus one left turn lane in either direction. A new eastbound right turn lane is currently under construction by Cobb DOT to serve traffic heading to I-75 southbound ramps. The project is approximately 0.5 mile in length. The project will require widening, median construction, signage, pavement markings, signalization, and minor bridge re-construction along Wade Green Road as well as widening the I-75 southbound ramp.  The purpose of this Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project, ask questions, and to express their interest and concerns about the proposal.  The Open House will be conducted between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  The public is invited to attend anytime during these hours to review the proposed plans for this project.  There will be no formal presentation.  A court reporter will be available during this time to allow the public the opportunity to make comments about the project.  Written statements will be accepted concerning this project until July 5, 2013.  All comments will be presented to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for their consideration regarding this project.  Written statements may be submitted to via email to: or via fax or mail:
