Kennesaw: One Last Mountain Movie Premier

cannonTo commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War a movie premiere of Kennesaw: One Last Mountain will be presented on September 22

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and the Battles of Marietta, Georgia 150th committee present the premiere of the new movie “Kennesaw: One Last Mountain” at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre September 22. This will be the first showing of the new movie created by the National Park Service for the Battlefield’s Visitor’s Center.
It includes recreations of the battles around Kennesaw Mountain and Marietta and is narrated by the well-known actor of more than 100 films, Emmy-winning narrator Peter Coyote.

Concessions will open at 6:30 p.m. with Civil War artifacts on display in the Strand lobby and on the fourth floor. Live period music will be played by members of Symphony on the Square and a performance on the Strand organ by Marietta’s own Ron Carter. At 7:30 p.m. the program will begin with introductions and a presentation of the history of the battlefield by national park historians. The movie will follow and is 35 minutes in length.
