LWV Speaker on Human Trafficking in Georgia and U.S.

susan_norrisLeague of Women Voters Marietta-Cobb hosts speaker/author Susan Norris to speak on human trafficking at their annual meeting on May 18.

“It’s time to sound the alarm.” Susan says. “We need to wake up and recognize our country’s most valuable resource is being stolen from us, our children. Called the crime hidden in plain sight, sex trafficking is no respecter of persons. It impacts every demographic imaginable.”
Susan Norris is an educator, international speaker, and author. Shocked to learn that girls as young as nine were being trafficked for sex in her quiet suburb outside Atlanta, Norris has worked to stop this exploitation. Ms. Norris’ debut novel, Rescuing Hope, was written to become a voice to protect young girls from becoming ensnared in human trafficking and to raise public awareness (http://www.susannorris.org/human-trafficking/).

This meeting is open to the public. Cost $5.  A continental breakfast will be provided.  Please RSVP by May 12 – call Gloria Nichols at 770-425-4258.
