Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition today at KMHS

KMHS Art Club is sponsoring our 1st Annual Sidewalk Chalk Competition Thursday, May 2nd in the front of our school.  Funds raised to benefit Blue Skies Ministries, a non-profit, local organization that takes families of children with pediatric cancer to a weeklong retreat to the beach.  The event officially starts at 3:45 until 5:45.  Kennesaw’s Mayor, City Council, and the Founder of Blue Skies Ministries will be coming to judge the artwork.  All are welcome to come and view this exciting afternoon of chalk art!  Snow cones and cookies will be for sale at the event.  Questions can be directed to Lauren Davis, Visual Arts teacher at KMHS at

This form of art is fast making its way to our area.  Popular in Florida, California and Savannah, GA, we understand that Marietta/Cobb Art Museum will host a chalk art competition during Art in the Park on Labor Day Weekend.
