Two 5K’s this weekend – Fundraisers for the Community

What better way to give back to the community and exercise at the same time.  Two 5K’s are being hosted this weekend and we invite you to participate in one of them.

SAT NOV 22 – ACWORTH TURKEY CHASE 5K – Enjoy an exhilarating 5K run through Historic Downtown Acworth and along the shores of beautiful Lake Acworth.  Walk, jog, or run, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Registration fees range from $5 to $20 before noon on November 19.  The 5K Fun Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the 2K walk at 9:15 a.m. on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. There will be a “Little Pilgrim” Trot for children up to age 5 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street. KMHS 5K FUN RUN/SHOP WITH A MUSTANG

SAT NOV 22 KMHS 5K FUN RUN/Walk.  8:00 am. at the school. Fee is $25 and all proceeds go towards the Shop With a Mustang Program. Course: Cross Country course at KMHS. 1898 Kennesaw Due West Rd, Kennesaw GA, 30152. Their drive, musical ability, showmanship and dedication to duplicating the Bon Jovi live experience makes this show a must see for any Bon Jovi fan!  At the Strand, on the Square, Marietta. The production is at the Murrary Arts Center at Mt. Paran Christian School.  For tickets call 770-974-8653 or purchase at the door.

skateparkSAT. NOV 23 SWIFT CANTRELL SKATEPARK OPENS.  Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. Opening Day will be a festive atmosphere. Members of local outfitter Ambush Board Company’s skate team will be on hand as well as Red Bull’s MXT event vehicle. There will be music, merchandise giveaways and raffles along with food vending on-site. A limited edition of Swift-Cantrell Skatepark t-shirts will also be available for purchase.  Kennesaw’s Swift-Cantrell Skatepark, located at 3140 Old 41 Highway, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  There is no charge to use the facility. In the case of severe weather, Opening Day will take place on Monday, November 25.
