FRI, SAT, SUN, AUG 23-AUG 25 THE PRODUCERS Broadway Veteran, Cobb County Native Meg Gillentine Headlines The Producers. Atlanta Lyric Theatre announces the return of hometown actress Meg Gillentine in Mel Brooks’ hysterical Tony Award-winning THE PRODUCERS. THE PRODUCERS once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. It is a truly “boffo” hit, winning a record twelve Tony Awards and wowing capacity crowds night after night. The plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit!  THE PRODUCERS skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!” This is the last weekend: playing August 23rd through the 25th at the Cobb Civic Center’s Anderson Theatre (548 S. Marietta Pkwy., Marietta). Tickets and information available at www.AtlantaLyricTheatre.com or 404-377-9948.
