KING OF KINGS at the Strand

king-of-kings-movie-poster-1927-1010428758What a wonderful way to start Easter weekend.  A viewing of Cecil B. DeMille’s THE KING OF KINGS to be screened with live musical accompaniment on the Strand’s Mighty Allen Theatre Organ by House Organist Ron Carter using the original 1928 musical score by legendary Hollywood composer Hugo Risenfeld. THE KING OF KINGS is the Greatest Story Ever Told as only Cecil B. DeMille could tell it. In 1927, working with one of the biggest budgets in Hollywood history, DeMille spun the life and Passion of Christ into a silent era blockbuster. It features the text drawn directly from the Bible, and a cast of thousands. This movie is at once spectacular and deeply reverent, part Gospel, part Technicolor epic. This special screening is on GOOD FRIDAY, April 18th at 8pm with an organ pops preshow at 7:30pm. Start the Easter weekend by experiencing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in a format that is uniquely different but with a very powerful and emotional message. See and hear this full length, digitally restored silent film and experience what your parents or grand parents did in the 1920s. But remember Silent Films were never really Silent!! Come early at 7:30pm for a great organ pre-show and sing-a-long by organist Larry Davis!

Tickets are $10; $9 for seniors, students and military with a group rate of 10 or more at $7 for Sunday school classes, church groups, church choirs! Call the Strand Box Officer at 770-293-0080; or in person a the box office 9 to 12 or 1 to 4 m-f or on the web at
