Kennesaw’s Touch A Truck and other FAMILY events

Imagine a playground that allows families to get up-close and personal with big trucks, heavy construction and public safety equipment, cool cars and specialty vehicles… that’s Touch-A-Truck! Have a blast watching your kids touch levers, flip switches, and shift gears that make their favorite vehicles whir and rumble at this one-day-only “museum” of local transportation.

Admission is FREE. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
This is a FREE event and it will be held on Saturday, March 10 from 10-2 at the Depot in downtown Kennesaw (its on Cherokee St across from the museum).  
Touch-A-Truck is an exciting and educational annual community event hosted by the City of Kennesaw’s Parks & Recreation, Public Works and Police Departments. If you or your company has a unique vehicle that you’d like to bring out, please contact Kimberly Flores at kdflores@kennesaw-ga.gov.

SAT MAR 10 MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS PLANTING Marietta Tree Keepers invites volunteers of all ages to help plant trees in the Marietta City Cemetery on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9:00am. Tools and refreshments provided. Dress for outdoor weather.We will be planting trees in the Marietta City Cemetery. The parking address is: Brown Park, 358 West Atlanta St., Marietta, 30064, look for the green signage. You can also drive into the middle of the cemetery and look for our sign-in table at the small white building. The date is Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9:00am.

SAT MAR 10 SHREDDING EVENT 9-12. On Saturday, March 10, 2018, the City of Marietta and Keep Marietta Beautiful will hold a shredding event from 9am-12pm at 591 North Marietta Pkwy NE, Marietta, GA 30060. While the event is free, donations are greatly appreciated. If you have confidential or sensitive documents that need to be safely discarded, Keep Marietta Beautiful will shred will allow you to watch your documents as they are shredded on site. Paper items only will be accepted.

TUES MAR 13 ROBERT JONES, SPEAKER- 7:00 pm Robert Jones, Author, will be the March 13 speaker for the Save Acworth History Foundation at 7:00 P.M. He will be speaking on the “Lost Gold of the Confederacy” at Roberts Community and Education Center 4681 School Street, Acworth GA 30101. Robert C. Jones served as President of the Kennesaw Historical Society for 21 years (1994-2015), and also served as a member of the executive board of the Kennesaw Museum Foundation for 17 years (1998-2015).

THUR MAR 15 AND FRI MAR 16 BRAVO DANCE COMPANY presents CONNECTED at the Dallas Theater. Solo and group works highlight a range of fun themes and exciting ideas! Our talented young artists inspire and light up the stage. Each show is unique and has a different assortment of dances. Touch A Truck at Brookstone Chick-Fil-A

cowonbenchBrookstone Chick-Fil-A located off of Mars Hill Road is hosting a “Touch-A-Truck” on Saturday, June 28th from 11:00-2:00 p.m. This a great opportunity for kids to be able to see BIG trucks up close. We will have a bus, a fire truck, and EMT truck, a police car, SWAT vehicle, and a Humvee from the Army – these vehicles are all donated for the time allotted and there will be personnel there to talk with the kids about their vehicles. We will be having a CFA_Touch_a_Truck_-_Horizontal_Page_1couple of games and the cow there too!  The event is Free.  Everyone is invited.

SAT MAR 16 Breakfast with Bunny at the Northwest Y 10:00 am to 12:00 noon
Parents and kids, join us for a morning of family fun with the Easter Bunny! We will have a yummy breakfast, a bounce house, bunny crafts, and exciting egg hunts.
