WED NOV 9 – GARDEN CLUB MEETING – Come and socialize and listen to this month’s program on “Let the Holiday Season Begin! Ideas for holiday decor”. This meeting is also our annual bake sale so come prepared to purchase delicious edibles. FRI NOV 11 – VETERANS DAY PARADE – The City of Marietta and the Kiwanis Club of Marietta’s will host the 12th Annual Veterans Day Parade at 11am on the Marietta Square. Grand Marshall for the 2016 Veterans Day Parade is Captain Ed Gallrein, United States Navy SEAL (retired).

FRI NOV 11 VETERANS DAY LUNCHEON sponsored by the City of Kennesaw and American Legion Post 304.  Lunch is complimentary to all veterans and active military personnel.  The event will be held from noon – 2 pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw.

FRI NOV 11 VETERANS DAY CEREMONY sponsored by the City of Acworth.  Join us on Friday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans.  This year’s keynote speaker is State Representative Ed Setzler, Mr. Setzler served on active duty for nine years as an officer in the US Army.

SAT NOV 12 – ELECTRONICS & PAINT RECYCLING – Hosted by Harrison High School Bands in the upper parking lot of Harrison High School from 9am-5pm. There is a $10.00 requested donation per car load. 100% of the donation goes to the HHS Bands program. There is a $20.00 processing fee for 1 TV/monitor and $15.00 each for 2 or more. A portion of this amount goes to HHS Bands as well. We are now offering large item pick-ups for an additional donation fee. Contact us at to get details or schedule a pick-up.

SAT NOV 12 – CHEROKEE HEIGHTS ARTS FESTIVAL – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole Drives in Marietta. There is no admission charge and all parking is free. Enjoy a wide variety of local arts and crafts, entertainment and children’s art-play booths.

SAT NOV 12 – INDOOR ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR – 10am-4pm; Cartersville Civic Center 435 W. Main St.  Over 70 vendors with handcrafted items. Food and drink available for purchase.  Get a head start on your holiday shopping & have some lunch.  Free admission and parking. Sponsored by Friends of Bartow County Library.

SAT NOV 12 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS – Join us as we plant trees in the Marietta City Cemetery at 8:30am. veteransdayparTUE NOV 10 – MARINE CORPS 240TH BIRTHDAY – The Marine Corps turns 240 years old on November 10 and the public is invited to attend a celebration at the Hilton Marietta Conference Center on Powder Springs St., Marietta.  The celebration will start at 6:00 pm with a traditional cake cutting ceremony at 8:00 pm.

WED NOV 11 – VETERANS DAY CEREMONY – The city of Acworth will honor our veterans at their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Patriots Point at Cauble Park at 2:00pm. Keynote speaker: Cobb Commissioner Bob Weatherford. For more info, visit or call 770-917-1234.

WED NOV 11 – VETERAN’S DAY LUNCHEON – North Cobb American Legion Post 304, along with Kennesaw city officials and staff, will honor America’s service men and women with a complimentary lunch. All veterans and active military service members are invited to attend. No identification will be required. 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center. No charge.

WED NOV 11 – VETERAN’S DAY PARADE – Begins at 11am. Grand Marshal/Keynote Speaker will be Major General Stayce Harris, Commanding General of the 22nd Air Force based at Dobbins. Ceremonies on the Square commence at Noon and conclude around 1pm. Hosted by the City of Marietta and Kiwanis Club of Marietta. SAT NOV 14 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS – Marietta Tree Keepers invites volunteers of all ages to help plant trees at the City of Marietta’s Laurel Park on Saturday, November 14 at 8:30am. photoSAT NOV 14 THE CHEROKEE HEIGHTS ART FESTIVAL is on Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole Drives, just a mile north of the Marietta Square and just a block off Cherokee Street.  Free entry, free parking, free music, free children’s art experiences, all from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Sunday is a rain day.) SAT NOV 14, SAT NOV 21 – TURKEY SHOOT – The Allatoona HS Precision Air Rifle Team will be hosting their annual Turkey Shoot Nov 14th and Nov 21st from 9 am–4 pm. Beside the Southland Greenhouses, in Acworth, just south of Third Army Road on Hwy 41.  All ages welcome to participate.  Cost is $5 per target.  There will be various prizes. Proceeds benefit the Precision Air Rifle Team.

music-notesSUN NOV 15 – FREE OPEN HOUSE AND VARIETY SHOW – On Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 pm a Variety Show featuring Ron Carter and the very talented Strand singers and dancers including Catherine Mouton, Taj Stephens, Joe Arnoti, Shelbea Own, Sterling McClary, with a special appearance by Cassi Costulas (General Manager of the Strand).
Featured will be the great music from Broadway and the American Songbook – which include songs from 42nd Street, Bye Bye Birdie, Titanic and solos — all accompanied by Ron Carter on the Strand’s mighty Allen Theater Organ. Stay after for a self guided tour of the theatre.  No ticket required, general seating – FREE EVENT.  The Strand is located on the Square at the corner of North Park Square and Cherokee St.  Visit

wreathFRI NOV 8 – Holiday Open House, Marietta Square. 6-9 pm This annual event kicks off the Holiday shopping season at the Square. Extended shopping hours continue every Friday evening until 8pm through December 20th. Marietta’s unique local shops offer a wide selection of gift ideas from vintage sound systems to original fine art, and everything in between. SAT NOV 9 MAKE A BURGER, MAKE A FRIEND – at Burger Fi Kennesaw from 11 am to 1 pm.  Benefiting the Georgia chapter of Autism speaks.  Suncoast High School Culinary Club in Riveria Beach, Florida, BurgerFi, and Autism Speaks have partnered together to create a simultaneous national event to be held on November 9, 2013.  BurgerFi is located on Main Street in downtown Kennesaw.  Drop by and have a burger.

Lovingly made local arts and crafts include original paintings, graphics, photography, jewelry, metal work, bird houses, textiles, baked goods, books and much more. Lots of Christmas gifting possibilities The show covers the entire block of Etowah Drive between Freyer and Seminole drives, just one block off Cherokee Street, the one-way street heading north from the Marietta Square. SAT NOV 9 – MARIETTA TREE KEEPERS – Volunteers needed to maintain plantings at Hill Park.  Arrive at 8:30 for donuts and beverages.  All ages welcome, dress for the weather.  Hill Park is a pretty little pocket park that was transformed from a once vacant lot just a few blocks off the northeast corner of Historic Marietta Square. Our theme is the contribution of women in the military to defending our freedoms.

MON NOV 11 VETERAN’S LUNCHEON – The City of Kennesaw invites all veterans to lunch in honor of their service to our country  Lunch will be served from noon to 2 at the Ben Robertson Community Center. All veterans and active duty military are invited to attend and no identification will be required.
