DEC 6- DEC 22 A CHRISTMAS TRADITION.  This song and dance revue will show off The Strand’s awe inspiring sets and effects like has never been seen before, as well as the diva voices and high energy dances that Strand patrons have come to know and love. This is the Strand’s first Christmas Show and 30 holiday favorites will be featured in the 90 minute show. TUES. DEC. 3 ACWORTH’S MENORAH LIGHTING CEREMONY 6:00 PM The City of Acworth invites everyone to its second annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 3, the seventh night of Hanukkah, at 6:00 p.m.  The Menorah is located at the corner of Cowan Road and Main Street in Downtown Acworth. Rabbi Zalman Charytan from the Chabad Jewish Center will officiate the lighting with Mayor Tommy Allegood assisting. 

THU DEC 5 SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN 5:00 PM. And he is coming on a firetruck.  What could be more exciting for our children than to see Santa arrive with all the bells and whistles. Join Santa Claus for the kick off to the holiday season in Marietta, Thursday, Dec. 5, in Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with performances by local school choruses. Santa will make his grand entrance at 5:20 p.m. and light the giant Christmas tree at 6 p.m. More entertainment will follow while Santa visits with children in the gazebo until 8 p.m.

THU DEC 5 HOLIDAY CONCERT 7:30 The Symphony on The Square Orchestra will present its fourth holiday concert on the first Thursday in December 5th at 7:30 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Marietta at 148 Church Street, Marietta, 30060. The concert is free to the public. and will feature mostly Christmas music favorites such as Christmas Festival and Sleigh Ride from Leroy Anderson along many other Christmas favorites—with over 30 Christmas carols performed in a concert lasting about an hour.

FRI DEC 6 DONUTS AND NOTES 10-Noon. Kennesaw State University’s College of Continuing and Professional Education is set to host its 12th annual Donuts & Notes event on Friday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. This free festive holiday concert and student art show will be held in room 400 of KSU Center (3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw, Ga. 30144). Refreshments will be served including coffee, juice, milk and donuts. Registration is required to attend this free event. FRI. DEC 6 ACWORTH SANTA ARRIVAL Come Early.  It’s that special time again! Santa will be stopping at the Depot in Downtown Acworth on Friday, December 6 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. There will be a host of performances to help Santa kickoff the holiday season. SAT DEC 7 Jingle Jog 5K  The 3rd Annual Jingle Jog 5K and 1K Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The race will start at Ford Elementary School, located at 1345 Mars Hill Road in Acworth The 1K Family Fun Run starts at 7:30 am and the 5K begins at 8:00 am. SAT. DEC 7 KENNESAW SANTA DAY PARADE The festivities start at noon with a parade down Main st. The City of Kennesaw will celebrate the start of the Christmas holiday season with a parade, entertainment and tree lighting program downtown at Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee Street, on Saturday, December 7. The entertainment will continue all afternoon with a holiday host of activities, live music and dance performances; along with a seasonal variety of food vendors, crafts, gift and general merchandise near the Depot.  Festivities will conclude with a Christmas tree lighting program which begins at 5 p.m. For more information, visit, or call the Kennesaw Parks &Recreation Department at (770) 422-9714.

SAT DEC 7 CHRISTMAS CONCERT 8:00. The Kennesaw State University Community and Alumni Choir presents ‘Twas the Night, a Christmas concert to benefit MUST Ministries Toy Shop, Saturday, December 7th at 8 P.M. at the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center. SAT & SUN DEC 7 & 8 MARIETTA PILGRIMAGE CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR Hospitality and a festive atmosphere greet visitors as they tour historic homes ranging from Victorian Mansions to a 1920’s cottage, all located in the Northwest Marietta/ Kennesaw Avenue Historic District. Pilgrimage hours are Saturday, 9am-6pm; Candlelight Tour, 7pm-9: 30pm; and Sunday, 10am-6pm.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for the day ticket.  The tour is sponsored by the Marietta Visitors Bureau and Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society.
